Barclays’ wealth and investment management division’s market head of Singapore and Malaysia has left the bank, this publication can confirm.

Soh Chye Guan, managing director, resigned from Barclays to “pursue other opportunities”, according to a spokesperson at the bank.

Based in Singapore, Soh was responsible for managing a team of bankers providing wealth management and advisory solutions to Barclay’s high and ultra high net worth Singaporean and Malaysian clients.

Prior to joining Barclays in July 2010, he was senior director, market leader Malaysia, and head of the senior client partner team at HSBC Private Bank since 2009.  Soh has over 27 years of experience in the financial services industry, of which the last 22 were in senior private banking roles across JP Morgan and various European financial institutions.

In February, Barclays promoted Vikram Malhotra, former head of South Asia for its wealth and investment management division, to global head of the London-listed bank's global South Asian community business. In his expanded role, Malhotra has overall responsibility for the GSAC teams in Dubai, London and Singapore. He remains based in Singapore and reports to Srinivas Siripurapu, who is head of offshore Africa, South and Southeast Asia.
