Exclusive: Chief Investment Officer For Morgan Stanley PWM In EMEA Leaves

The chief investment officer at the private wealth management arm of Morgan Stanley in the EMEA region, Chris Gooding, is leaving the US-listed firm, this publication has learned.

Godding’s future plans are unknown at this stage. It is understood that Morgan Stanley is seeking a replacement. Godding had held the role since 2006.

Another recent departure at Morgan Stanley’s PWM business in Europe was reported in late June this year when Michael Hall, chief administrative officer, left the company.

On the other hand, the business has recently appointed former Credit Suisse relationship manager Michelle Penney. Penney joined as a vice president and investment advisor, based in Dubai, working with Middle Eastern and UK clients.

In August, this publication reported that Morgan Stanley International Wealth Management named Charlie Mak, currently head of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney for Asia, as its president. Mak filled a position that had been left vacant for several months after Michael Armstrong was put in charge of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney's capital markets business in New York.
