Exclusive: Barclays Wealth Scoops Goldman Sachs UHNW Banker

Barclays Wealth has hired a former Goldman Sachs manager, Kevin Shone, in the latest in a string of hires for its ultra high net worth team.

Shone is believed to be joining as a managing director in the UK private bank's UHNW and family offices team in November. He previously worked at Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management, where he worked as a managing director since 2008. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Shone was a senior private banker at Coutts & Co, where he worked for 17 years with a focus on UHNW clients.

Barclays Wealth declined to comment.

The London-headquartered wealth manager has made a number of appointments to this segment. Last October, Stefanie Drews was made head of UHNW and family offices for UK and EMEA, having previously spent 12 years at Morgan Stanley. Earlier this year, Christian Kwek joined as managing director, based in London. Kwek previously spent eight years at BNP Paribas.
