The Swiss private bank has made a number of senior hires for Latin America-facing roles, either for those based in the region, or via Switzerland. In the latest move, it has hired a senior figure from Citi Private Bank, and a number of her colleagues.

Julius Baer, the Swiss private bank, has named a former Citi Private Bank senior figure, Antonia Murga, as its new market head for Latin America. She will be based in Geneva and is bringing a team with her from the US bank.

As part of the role, Murga will report to Carlos Recoder and Thomas Frauenlob, co-heads Western markets and Switzerland.

For three decades, Murga has worked at Citi Private Bank, most recently for the past decade heading its Latin America Europe business.

Murga will be joining Julius Baer with a team from Citi which includes two senior relationship managers and one junior relationship manager. The team starts at Julius Baer in October 2025.

Among other appointments in the Latin America-focused area at Julius Baer this year are the following:

Additionally, one relationship manager joined the Julius Baer office in Santiago, and another relationship manager will join the office later this year.
