Ex-Citi Private Bank Senior Figure, Team Members Join Julius Baer

The Swiss private bank has made a number of senior hires for Latin America-facing roles, either for those based in the region, or via Switzerland. In the latest move, it has hired a senior figure from Citi Private Bank, and a number of her colleagues.
Julius Baer, the
Swiss private bank, has named a former Citi Private
Bank senior figure, Antonia Murga, as its new market head for
Latin America. She will be based in Geneva and is bringing a team
with her from the US bank.
As part of the role, Murga will report to Carlos Recoder and
Thomas Frauenlob, co-heads Western markets and Switzerland.
For three decades, Murga has worked at Citi Private Bank, most
recently for the past decade heading its Latin America Europe
business.
Murga will be joining Julius Baer with a team from Citi which
includes two senior relationship managers and one junior
relationship manager. The team starts at Julius Baer in October
2025.
Among other appointments in the Latin America-focused area at
Julius Baer this year are the following:
In March, Leoncio Toro joined as head of the Julius Baer office
in Santiago, Chile and, at the same time, responsible for the
office in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Additionally, one relationship manager joined the Julius Baer
office in Santiago, and another relationship manager will join
the office later this year.
At the start of 2025, Pablo Valdes was appointed representative
officer for the office of Julius Baer in Mexico City. In the
meantime, a relationship manager has joined the Mexico team in
Zurich.
Two relationship managers will reinforce the Brazil International
teams in Geneva and Zurich later this year.
