European Business Group Pushes To Get More Listings On Singapore Stock Market

The European Chamber of Commerce in Singapore is hosting two heavyweight speakers as they seek to attract potential clients to list on the SGX, or Singapore Exchange.
With global investments continuing to flow into the Eastern hemisphere to fulfil the Asian needs, Euro Cham is keen to see how companies can source the capital to match their business strategies.
Magnus Böcker, chief executive of Singapore Exchange, and Ray Ferguson, chief executive of Standard Chartered Singapore, will be the keynote speakers at the event titled: Asian Capital Markets and Singapore - Gateway to Asia. The event will be held at the Fullerton Hotel, on 23 September.
Sitting in the heart of Asia’s biggest economies of China, India, Indonesia and Japan the SGX offers, its management will say, a perfect location for more businesses and investors to participate in the growth opportunities and access the best investments.
Böcker has over two decades of leadership experience in the exchange industry, including being president of NASDAQ OMX, spearheading the creation of OMX (the Nordic Exchanges Company), and subsequently playing a key role in the merger of OMX and Nasdaq in 2008. Magnus Böcker joined SGX as chief executive officer on 1 December 2009.
