Ernst & Young Ramps Up West Coast Asset Management Tax Practice

Ernst & Young has expanded its asset management tax practice on the West Coast with the hires of Michael Doolan, Mark Gutierrez, Paul Kangail and Eric Wauthy.

Doolan joins the firm from Macquarie Bank in New York, where he led tax and structuring for the asset management business in the Americas. Before Macquarie, he worked on M&A transactions at KPMG.

Gutierrez was previously a leader at Deloitte Tax’s Pacific Southwest asset management practice, before which he was a member of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Los Angeles, CA and Boston, MA practices.

Wauthy was also formerly a leader at Deloitte Tax’s Pacific Southwest asset management practice.

Meanwhile, Kangail was latterly a tax partner at Rothstein Kass, where he led its Bay Area financial services tax practice. He is also a former partner at Deloitte.
