Elian Appoints Managing Director In Luxembourg

The provider of corporate, capital market, fund and private wealth services handed the role to a former executive at subsidiary SFM Europe.
Elian has appointed Laurent Bélik as managing director in Luxembourg, replacing Paul Lawrence who moved to London earlier this year to become the company's head of European funds
Bélik was managing director of SFM Luxembourg for five years before Elian acquired SFM Europe last year. He now leads the combined Elian and SFM business in Luxembourg. Before SFM, Bélik was head of Doughty Hanson Luxembourg Real Estate. He has also worked at LaSalle Investment Management, ABN AMRO and Merrill Lynch.
The appointment follows Stephen Osmont’s recent transfer from Jersey to Luxembourg as associate director of Elian's real estate and corporate divisions.
“As a premier private banking centre in the eurozone and the second largest fund centre in the world, Luxembourg is a key location for Elian and many private and institutional investors from all over the world. Laurent brings a wealth of experience to Elian, and under his leadership, we look forward to further growth in our core service capabilities,” said Elian's chief executive, Paul Willing.
Also this week, the company hired Matthew Christensen as an associate director within its private wealth team in Jersey.
Elian's clients include law and accountancy firms, multi-national corporations, financial institutions, high net worth individuals, family offices and fund managers.
