Edmond De Rothschild Makes Group, France-Based Hires

A raft of top-level appointments have been made by the umbrella organisation, its financial entity, and French business.

Edmond de Rothschild has made a number of group and French subsidiary appointments.

The moves follow that of Cynthia Tobiano as CEO of Edmond de Rothschild Holding SA.

Philippe Cieutat has been appointed chief financial officer of the group. He will join the group's executive committee and oversee finance, cash and loans.

Pierre-Etienne Durand, group head of strategy and a member of the executive committee, has taken on extended responsibilities in corporate development and will report to François Pauly, head of EdR Group, it said. (This publication has asked the firm to clarify details.)

(To clarify, by the "group", EdR means the Edmond de Rothschild Group, which is the financial group and whose CEO is François Pauly. The Edmond de Rothschild Holding SA is the umbrella entity of the Edmond de Rothschild Group (it includes the group and other businesses); the CEO is Cynthia Tobiano (she is also deputy CEO of the Edmond de Rothschild Group).

Fabrice Coille, head of group management control, has been appointed CEO Edmond de Rothschild (France) and as a member of the executive board.

Nicolas Giscard d'Estaing has been appointed corporate secretary and a member of the executive board of Edmond de Rothschild (France). In particular, he is in charge of supervising the risk, permanent control and compliance functions, the function of head of information systems security, credit, and the institutional relations department.

Lastly, Sarah Arnett, director of communications France and the group brand, has been named director of communications and brand for the group. She reports to Pauly and is based in Geneva. Marie de Perignon succeeds her in Paris and has been appointed director of communications in France.

Cieutat joined Edmond de Rothschild (France) in September 2014 as chief administrative and financial officer. He was made CEO in March 2019.

Durand, began his career at Oliver Wyman in Paris and then joined Bain & Company in 2006, where he later became a partner at the financial services skills division. He joined the Edmond de Rothschild Group in 2013 as director of strategy and organisation of the Edmond de Rothschild Group.

Coille, began his career in 1996 at ING Ferri. In 2001, he joined the Edmond de Rothschild Group subsidiary in France, where he held various responsibilities in management control for over 12 years. After being appointed head of management control for the subsidiary in Paris in 2013, he joined the head office in Geneva in 2014 as head of group management control.

D'Estaing, who began his career in 1979 at Crédit Industriel et Commercial in Paris, then joined Edmond de Rothschild (France) in 1984, where he served in various functions. He was appointed secretary general of the executive board in January 2017 and secretary of the board in March 2019.

Arnett began her career in 1996 at the Fortiter communications agency, where she managed corporate communications. In 2000, she joined CCF and oversaw the change of identity of the bank.

De Perignon began her career in 2002 as an events project manager at communication group Mazarine. She joined Crédit Suisse in 2006 as communication director for France, organising events and marketing communication projects for the private banking and merchant banking businesses as well as the front office.
