Eastspring Investments Names Deputy CEO

Eastspring Investments, the Asian asset management business of Prudential Corporation Asia, has named a former Deutsche Bank executive as deputy chief executive and global head of distribution, product and marketing.

Michele Bang assumes a newly-created position as part of the firm's continuing global expansion strategy. The hire of Bang, the former head of the global client group for North Asia at Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, follows the recent opening of the firm's European sales office in London. She takes up her new role later this year, said the firm in a statement without giving an exact date.

She reports to Guy Strapp, who changed his role in the company from chief investment officer to chief executive in August 2013 and replaced Graham Mason who relocated to South Africa.

Eastspring Investments' Asia business covers Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, the UAE and Vietnam, and also joint ventures in China, India and Hong Kong.
