Dublin Wealth Manager to Syndicate Green Energy Fund

Jaguar Capital, the Dublin-based wealth manager, is investing more than €20 million in a green energy fund targeting central Europe. Jaguar is taking a stake of between 15 and 20 per cent in the EnerCap Power Fund, which is aiming to raise about €120 million to invest in renewable energy projects in central and south eastern Europe. The fund will be increased with borrowings to create a fund of about €600 million. Jaguar, which was founded in 2002 by John Burke and Liam Dowd and has invested in commercial properties and acquiring businesses, plans to syndicate its investment in the fund to rich clients with an entry level investment of about €140,000. Headquartered in Prague, the EnerCap Power Fund had a first closing recently with commitments of €75 million. The European Investment Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have each committed €25 million. International bank Sumitomo Mitsui and Invest Kredit in Austria are also investing.
