Double Hire At Standard Bank

South Africa's Standard Bank has made two senior appointments to its personal and business banking international division. Matt Gorman has been hired as head of planning and change, while Karen Tiplady has been promoted to head of operations.

Gorman, with more than 20 years’ experience within the banking industry, joins Standard Bank from Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, Jersey, where he was head of business services for the firm’s wealth advisory operations. Before that, he spent 20 years at the RBS Group, in the UK.

In his new role, Gorman will take responsibility for leading a change programme at the firm. He will be based in Jersey.

Tiplady, with more than 25 years’ experience at the RBS Group, was previously a senior manager within Standard Bank’s client support team. During her career, she has held a number of senior positions, including head of payment services in the Isle of Man, and head of operations in Gibralter.

Tiplady will be based in the Isle of Man.
