Digital Digest: The Latest Tech News – Interactive Brokers

The latest technology news in the wealth management sector from around the world.

Interactive Brokers
Nasdaq-listed Interactive Brokers has launched Ask IBKR, an AI-powered tool that delivers instant portfolio insights through natural language queries.

Originating as a chatbot extension of PortfolioAnalyst – Interactive Brokers’ free portfolio management solution – Ask IBKR will expand its capabilities into new areas such as fundamentals data, statements and reporting, corporate actions, tax details, and more.

“With Ask IBKR, we’re introducing a natural language-based way for investors to interact with their portfolio data,” Milan Galik, chief executive at Interactive Brokers, said. “Instead of navigating across screens, clients can simply ask, ‘What sector am I underweight compared with the S&P 500?’ and get an instant, visualised answer.”

Categories of queries include comparing performance against benchmarks, identifying valuation changes over time, and highlighting periods of outperformance or underperformance; analysing sector exposure, comparing returns across asset classes, and assessing performance by instrument type; identifying top positions, reviewing geographic allocations, and locating dividend-paying securities; and reviewing trade history, monitoring interest and fees, and analysing cash inflows and outflows.

Ask IBKR is available to individual clients via the firm’s Client Portal platform, financial advisors through the Advisor Portal, and all clients using IBKR Desktop, with further platform integrations planned in the coming months, the firm added.

Earlier this year, WealthBriefingAsia spoke to Interactive Brokers about its work in Singapore with external asset managers.
