Dow Jones has
unveiled Risk & Compliance Financial Instruments, a pre- and
post-trade investment screening solution. The rollout comes as
the task of identifying sanctioned instruments and linked
instruments has become more onerous.
The offering combines Dow Jones’ data with securities mapping
provided by BIGTXN. Firms can screen their investment universe
against more than 50 jurisdictions and entities owned or
controlled by sanctioned subjects.
Coverage includes sanctions data from 52 jurisdictions globally,
including the major sanctioning bodies; entities owned or
controlled by subjects sanctioned by the US Office Foreign Assets
Controls (OFAC), the EU Commission and the UK HM Treasury; more
than 104 million financial instruments screened across five types
of instrument identifiers, and securities coverage across all
asset classes including equity, debt, exchange-traded funds
(ETFs) and derivatives.
“As the world grapples with economic uncertainty and rising
geopolitical tensions, sanctions and investment screening are in
the spotlight like never before – and the costs for
non-compliance are growing,” Joel Lange, executive vice president
and general manager, Dow Jones Risk & Research, said.
(This publication recently
interviewed Lange about Dow Jones’ work in the compliance
field.)
