DeVere Launches HNW Unit In UK

The financial consultancy that provides advice to expatriate clients and investors has established a unit to exclusively serve high net worth clients in the UK.

DeVere UK has launched a high net worth division and is looking to boost business levels by 50 per cent in 2016.

The division will cater for clients who typically have more than £1 million ($1.5 million) of investable assets. It will be run by deVere's new head of advice, Mitch Hopkinson, who previously served as the firm's head of East Midlands.

“Throughout 2015 we have continued to attract so many high net worth clients, it is a natural progression to create a division to serve their often unique and specialist financial planning and wealth management needs,” said the firm's managing director, Mike Coady.

DeVere says it has implemented efficiencies and will expand its team to accommodate strong demand across its deVere UK and deVere Mortgages brands.

It has also made a number of other internal appointments. The firm's head of UK financial planning, Kevin White, will become head of distribution; senior paraplanner Lee Grimshaw will become head of proposition; and Chris Barry, head of the pension review team, has been appointed head of retirement.
