Deutsche Bank UK Makes Senior Hires

Deutsche Bank UK hired new private bankers to serve ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices and a new head of risk management for wealth management UK to drive growth.

Deutsche Bank Private Bank UK has hired Gaurav Gaur (pictured) as head of risk management for wealth management UK, reporting to Alexandre Francois. Gaur is a specialist with more than 17 years of experience in the field.

Prior to his joining, Gaur spent three years at JP Morgan Wealth Management London, covering UK and EMEA clients, the firm said in a statement. Before that, he spent one year at UBS Singapore covering structured credits for APAC clients and six years at Credit Suisse Singapore, where he was part of the IB CRM team covering leveraged finance, structured and corporate credits (South-East Asia and Australia). Prior to that, Gaur worked for five years as a credit officer in Siemens AG Mumbai, covering leveraged finance, project finance and PPP transactions. He started his career at Kotak Mahindra Bank Mumbai, where he was a risk analyst for two years.

At the same time, Deutsche Bank has named Jaryd Selinger and Freddie Lindesay as relationship managers for family offices and ultra-high net worth clients. They report to Adam Proctor who joined the bank last year. Following the build out of the team, in the first half of the year, the UK and Nordics region business grew by a third over the prior year, under the leadership of the region’s head and CEO of DB UK James Whittaker, the firm said.

Selinger is a private banker specialising in serving UHNW families and family offices, bringing 14 years of experience across two continents. Having advised clients on complex investment strategies and financial affairs at UBS Australia, Citi Private Bank UK, and most recently with a boutique multi-family office, he has developed expertise working with international clients who maintain global interests. This experience across large institutions and independent advisory has provided him with a nuanced perspective on delivering bespoke solutions.

Lindesay has more than a decade of experience advising ultra-high net worth families, entrepreneurs, and family offices. At Citi Private Bank, he served in roles across both the HNW and UHNW segments, growing the investment business and supporting clients with strategic portfolio planning. Prior to that, he was a team leader at wealth tech firm Y TREE, where he helped scale the advisory business and guided clients through complex, multi-generational financial decisions, the firm said.

“Their expertise and broad experience will be invaluable as we continue to drive growth and success with UHNW clients and family offices in the region. This will enable us to build on what has already been a great year so far. And we expect our team to continue to grow alongside our business,” Whittaker said.
