Deutsche Bank Hires Global Head Of Capital Introduction

Deutsche Bank has hired former Merrill Lynch manager Anita Nemes as global head of capital introduction, based in London. She will lead the bank’s effort to give its hedge fund clients access to institutional sources of capital.

A spokesperson told this publication that such “institutional sources” could include institutions such as wealth management firms.

As noted by a number of hedge fund industry figures, institutional investors have become a more important source of hedge fund clients in recent years. Initially, hedge fund clients typically tended to be rich individuals. The more institutional client base has also affected how hedge funds operate, encouraging these once-freewheeling asset pools to place more emphasis on risk control and tailoring their offerings towards clients with moderate or low risk tolerance.

Nemes joins Deutsche Bank in October.
