Deutsche Bank Appoints New India CEO

Deutsche Bank has appointed a new chief executive for India.

Ravneet Gill assumes the CEO post with immediate effect, overseeing all of the bank's businesses in India, including corporate banking and securities, global transaction banking, private and business clients and asset and wealth management. In addition, he also becomes a member of the Asia-Pacific executive committee.

Gill replaces Gunit Chadha, who was recently promoted to co-CEO of Asia-Pacific and member of the global group executive committee. He reports directly to Chadha and co-CEO Alan Cloete.

Gill brings over 26 years of banking experience to this new role. He joined Deutsche Bank's private wealth management arm in 1991 and then moved into the corporate banking division in 1993. He became head of corporate banking coverage in 2003. In 2011, he was appointed head of capital markets and treasury solutions for India.

Deutsche Bank India has been eyeing growth for the next years, particularly after its branch operations posted a 31 per cent year-on-year increase in profit after tax for the year to March 2012.
