Deutsche Bank, Omega Advisors Launch UCITS Fund

Deutsche Bank and Omega Advisors are launching the DB Platinum Omega fund on Deutsche Bank’s UCITS platform this month - a vehicle which will be managed by Leon Cooperman, chairman and chief executive of Omega.
Cooperman runs Omega Overseas Partners, a fund with a long-biased equity long/short strategy investing mainly in US mid and large caps.
“Partnering with hedge fund veteran Leon Cooperman represents another key milestone for Deutsche Bank and is testament to our investors that dbalternatives will strive to provide access to the world’s leading hedge fund managers in UCITS,” said Tarun Nagpal, Deutsche Bank’s European head of fund derivatives.
Omega was founded by Cooperman in 1991; he had previously been chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Today, Omega employs 37 people in the US managing about $5.8 billion of assets overall.
