Deutsche Adds To Jersey Private Client Team

Deutsche Bank has bolstered its private client team in Jersey with the appointment of Thomas Cummins – formerly of Barclays Wealth – as a relationship manager within its executives and entrepreneurs business.

In his new role Cummins will work with intermediaries and professional advisors to reinforce the team’s business development strategy, as well as acting as a primary point of contact for clients, Deutsche said in a statement. His particular focus will be private clients with Middle Eastern and African connections.

Cummins’ recruitment from Barclays Wealth, where he was a relationship manager and team leader with responsibility for business development, follows a pair of senior promotions within Deutsche’s Jersey private client team.

Clive Wright, head of the executives and entrepreneurs team, was recently made managing director, having been with Deutsche for over four years. He continues to lead the executives and entrepreneurs team and also has specific responsibility for Africa, Israel and Turkey, running a team of 30 private wealth managers located in the US, Germany, Switzerland and the Channel Islands.

Secondly, Adam Norris has been promoted to the rank of director. In addition to managing the bank’s existing client relationships and promoting the business in Jersey, Norris also provides the team with direction in focusing on the Middle East and Africa.

“We are seeing a real growth in demand for specialist, tailored wealth management and investment services amongst executives and entrepreneurs in the Middle East and Africa who, due to the nature of their businesses and lifestyles, tend to be internationally mobile individuals,” said Wright.

“As a consequence, our private client team is focusing its efforts on the executives and entrepreneurs business in these key markets this year.  As we continue to bolster the team, Thomas’ appointment gives us additional strength and expertise in continuing to build relationships with clients in the region.”
