Deals Of The Day: The Latest In Wealth Management M&A – Shackleton Advisers, AC Wealth

The latest mergers, acquisitions and other corporate actions in the wealth management sector.
Shackleton
Advisers has agreed to acquire Aberdein Considine Wealth
Limited, the Scottish financial planning firm trading as AC
Wealth, from its shareholders.
The deal, which is subject to approval by the Financial Conduct
Authority, will add about £800 million ($1.08 billion) in assets
under management and advice to Shackleton's business, along with
40 staff, including 14 FCA-authorised financial
advisors.
The purchase takes Shackleton's total assets under management and
advice in Scotland to more than £1.3 billion, it said in a
statement.
AC Wealth was previously the wealth management arm of Aberdein
Considine LLP, a Scottish law firm, before becoming an
independent limited company in June 2025.
Shackleton is a consolidator of independent financial advice
firms in the UK, bringing several established practices together
under one group with a shared fee structure.
When the deal is wrapped up, Shackleton will run its Scottish
operations from offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh, with
local representation retained in Perth and Stirling. The enlarged
Scottish business will be split into two regions, Scotland East,
run from Aberdeen, and Scotland West, run from Glasgow. Existing
AC Wealth clients will continue to be served by the same advisors
and teams, with access to Shackleton's investment capability and
platform expected over time.
