DBS Adds To Contactless Payment Range

DBS, the Singaporean bank, has launched a new credit card that allows users to make transactions through their mobile handsets.
The DBS One.Tap MasterCard PayPass Card will be available to DBS and POSB cardholders. So far, the bank has equipped over 30,000 of its partner merchant outlets with contactless payment terminals and is working to expand its partnerships and widen the acceptance network throughout Singapore.
Aside from payment, a rewards system will also be implemented where customers will be able to download merchant discount coupons onto their handsets and pay for their purchases with a single tap. For a limited period, card users who pay with their One.Tap Card will be entitled to a range of discounts at selected partner merchants.
DBS is vigilant in driving contactless payments in Singapore. In 2009, the bank launched the first 3-in-1 contactless payment card under Visa, VisaPaywave and EZ Link through the DBS LiveFresh Paywave Card. It also introduced the POSB Everyday Card and Women's Card in July 2012.
