Dallas-based investment advisory gets a new name

CPA firm's affiliate switches "financial planning" for "wealth management". The RIA subsidiary of Dallas-based CPA Weaver and Tidwell has changed its name from Weaver and Tidwell Financial Advisors to Weaver and Tidwell Wealth Management.

More accurate

"Our services go well beyond just investments and asset allocation and include such needed services as tax planning, risk management, business succession and legacy planning," says Alan Goldfarb, chief wealth strategist at Weaver and Tidwell Wealth Management's, which has offices in Forth Worth, Houston and San Antonio as well as Dallas.

The firm's managing director David Sego emphasizes that that the new name is a reflection of pre-existing capabilities rather than new operational strategies.

"Because our services and consulting experience focus on high-wealth individuals, it made sense to change our name to reflect our clients and the depth of services we provide," Sego told the San Antonio Business Journal.

As of last Friday, Weaver Tidwell's nine-year-old RIA has a bit more than $234 million in assets under management across 223 accounts, according to its latest ADV filing with the SEC. -FWR
