Credit Suisse Poaches From UBS for Japan Wealth Management Launch
Credit Suisse has announced plans to launch private banking
operations in Japan by end of this year and that it has appointed
Junya Tani as head of Private Banking in Japan.
He joins Credit Suisse from UBS Securities Japan, where he has
been head of wealth management for Japan. Prior to UBS, he worked
for Citigroup where his last position was head of product
development in the private banking division.
Mr Tani will join Credit Suisse, Tokyo Branch on 22 July
2008.
The bank's Private Banking business provides comprehensive advice
and a broad range of investment products and services tailored to
the complex needs of high-net-worth individuals globally.
Establishing operations in Japan is an important part of Credit
Suisse's expansion of its Private Banking business globally.
Marcel Kreis, head of Private Banking Asia Pacific said: "We
will be focusing on leveraging Credit Suisse's integrated banking
platform with our well-established Investment Banking and Asset
Management divisions to offer a comprehensive range of services
and deliver the benefits of the entire bank to our clients in
Japan."
