There are changes at the top of the sustainability business lines at the Swiss bank.
Credit Suisse has appointed Emma Crystal as its chief sustainability officer as of 1 April, reporting to chief executive Thomas Gottstein, group CEO.
Separately, Marisa Drew, who has led the sustainability strategy,
advisory and finance (SSAF), business, is leaving to pursue an
opportunity outside the bank, it confirmed yesterday. She has
been at the bank for 18 years, holding senior leadership roles
including as co-head of leveraged finance, head of global markets
solutions and co-head of EMEA investment banking.
Crystal will be responsible for partnering with the divisions,
regions and functions, to deliver its sustainability commitments
and expanding its wealth management product shelf, investment
banking financing offering and net-zero deliverables, according
to a memo seen by this news service.
Crystal joined the bank in 2013 and had led the (international)
wealth management business for Northern and Western Europe since
2020, as well as its sustainable client solutions (SCS) unit.
Prior to this, she served in senior roles in wealth management,
concentrating on European clients. Before that, Crystal covered
family offices for the UK and Nordic markets. She has also worked
in global markets for Deutsche Bank.
The successor for Crystal’s role in wealth management will be
announced in due course, the memo said.
