Credit Suisse Names Mutual Funds Head For Singapore

Credit Suisse, the Swiss financial services giant, has strengthened its Asian mutual funds business with the appointment of a new head.

Karla Borland becomes head of mutual funds and exchange traded funds Asia in Singapore effective 1 July. She moves to the city-state from Australia, where she is part of Credit Suisse's fund analysis and advisory arm as vice president, private bank. Prior to that, she was head of research at Investec Bank.

Borland's transfer coincides with the expansion efforts by Credit Suisse in the Asian region and follows the appointment of former Asia mutual funds head Joost Bilkes as relationship manager for the Taiwan desk. It also comes just weeks after Christopher Faddy moved from Barclays Capital to become managing director and head of non-Japan Asia distribution for asset management.
