Credit Suisse Makes Two Senior Appointments for Asia Pacific

Credit Suisse has appointed Neil Harvey as managing director and head of Asia Pacific and also as head of emerging markets globally for asset management.

Mr Harvey, who will be based in Hong Kong, returns to the Swiss bank from Renaissance Group, where he recently was the deputy chief executive officer and chairman international. Before that, he focused on being a founding partner at Asia focused multi-strategy hedge fund Bennelong Asset Management. Mr Harvey had served 10 years at Credit Suisse, where he held several senior positions, including head of investment banking and client coverage in Hong Kong and global head of emerging markets fixed income distribution.

He will report to CEO Asset Management Robert Shafir and CEO Asia Pacific Kai Nargolwala.

"Given Neil's extensive knowledge of Credit Suisse, combined with his asset management and emerging markets' expertise operating skills and strong track record, we are confident he will play an important role in the growth of our Asset Management and Emerging Markets platforms in the region and across the Bank," said Mr Nargolwala in a statement.

Mr Harvey takes over from Salman Shoaib, who has also just been appointed head of corporate development for Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. Mr Shoaib will also be assuming the role of branch manager for Credit Suisse AG Singapore and senior corporate officer for Credit Suisse (Singapore) Ltd, subject to regulatory approval. He will also be reporting to Mr Nargolwala.
