Credit Suisse Makes Raft Of Senior Appointments At Private Bank

Credit Suisse has made a number of senior hires within its private banking business, WealthBriefing can confirm. And as this publication has reported elsewhere today, the Zurich-listed bank has also announced cuts to its bonus pool to ease the impact of a new UK tax.
In its Market Area UK/International segment, which includes the UK, Africa, Israel, the Netherlands and Nordic countries, Matthew Spencer assumes the role of the head of intermediaries management for the market area with immediate effect. He will relocate to Zurich and has been at the bank since 2007, having previously worked at Jupiter Asset Management and Singer & Friedlander.
John Stemper has been appointed market officer UK, effective 1 March, also to be based in Zurich. He has worked at Credit Suisse since 2001.
In its onshore private banking business, Credit Suisse said that Charlie Egerton-Warburton is to be head of the combined Finance Market Professionals and Complex Clients group. He will remain a member of the UK executive management committee.
Richard Algar assumes responsibility for the Entrepreneurs and Corporate Executives group. He will relocate to London and join the UK executive management committee. Andrew Cattle and Brian McRitchie both assume roles of senior relationship manager.
As previously reported exclusively by this publication, Ian Dembinski joins the firm as head of UHNWI UK/International on 21 January. He was previously managing director and senior client advisor at UBS’s wealth management division.
