Credit Suisse Makes Raft Of Private Banking Hires

Credit Suisse’s UK private banking business has announced a swathe of senior appointments in sectors such as Middle East, Italian and non-resident Indian banking, WealthBriefing can exclusively report.

Hassan Al-Madi joins as a director in the Middle East offshore team, and will focus on the private banking needs of non resident domiciled Saudi Arabian private clients. Mr Al-Madi joins from Samba Financial Group where he was general manager, priority banking, responsible for leading the implementation of the bank’s wealth management business in Saudi Arabia. Prior to this role, he worked for Al-Bank Al-Saudi Al-Faransi as country head of its priority banking division at BSF head office in Riyadh.

Stefano Ferriaolo, meanwhile, joins as a director in the Italian offshore team. He previously worked at Barclays Wealth, where he was a director of Italian international private banking.

Kanika Mehra has been hired as a vice president in the non-resident Indian offshore private banking team, taking up the role in February next year. Mr Mehra joins from Standard Chartered Private Bank where she was a relationship manager, responsible for a NRI client base.

Ali Hammad, in addition to his current role as regional head of the Middle East for the bank's UK offshore private banking business, will assume responsibility for the India offshore private banking business in the UK.

Alex Vlassov joins as a director in the Russian and Eastern European offshore team. Mr Vlassov joins in February, having previously worked at Merrill Lynch where he was a director of emerging markets fixed income trading and latterly, first vice president of Eastern Europe and Russia private banking in London.

Stephen Swift has been appointed as a director in the finance market professionals team, joining in January and previously worked at State Street Global Markets where he was in equity sales since 2005.

Fermin Garcia-Romeu, previously part of the Spanish offshore team, is moving from the international business to the UK onshore team.
