Credit Suisse Launches 45 ETFs On LSE

Credit Suisse is to launch 45 exchange-traded-funds on the London Stock Exchange, in a move to expand its European ETF platform into the UK market.
Of the new ETFs, 14 will focus on emerging markets, including the first ever UCITS regulated Chinese A-shares ETF.
The firm is developing its "New Generation" ETFs, which comprise both swap-based and physical replication ETFs. The product range covers equity indices across major geographies and capitalisation ranges as well as government bond indices with various maturities for Europe and the US. The range also includes three ETFs with physical deposits of gold.
Credit Suisse's swap ETFs will provide investors with the daily publication of mark-to-market fund holdings, with clients able to access this information online.
“We believe it is an exciting time for the European ETF industry. This is only the beginning of the story, we see potential for rapid growth in Europe, similar to that seen in the US over the past decade,” said Dan Draper, global head of ETFs at Credit Suisse.
Credit Suisse launched its ETF Platform in 2001 and is the fourth largest provider of ETFs in Europe. Credit Suisse has SFr12 billion (around $11.8 billion) in ETF assets under management.
