Credit Suisse Appoints Former APAC Head To Lead Emerging Markets

Switzerland's number two bank expands in the emerging markets.

Credit Suisse has appointed Rob Jesudason as head of the newly-created global emerging markets team within the financial institutions group, as the Swiss bank expands in the high-growth region.

Jesudason has been with the bank since 2007 as head of the APAC financial institutions group. He remains in Hong Kong for the role, which takes effect immediately. The global emerging markets unit spans Credit Suisse's current financial institutions coverage Asia-Pacific, Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Latin America.

Simon Yuan and Nicolo Salsana have also been appointed as co-heads of the APAC financial institutions group. Yuan was previously the head of the Greater China FIG, while Salsano was with the EMEA FIG.

Credit Suisse's global emerging markets franchise has been seeing growth over the last year, reporting that it has bolstered its position to number one in terms of share-of-wallet at 8.5 per cent market share, up from from the number two spot in 2010. Its global institutions franchise is number five in share-of-wallet with a 7.7 per cent market share.
