Credit Suisse Appoints CEO For Iberia

Credit Suisse has named Antonio Viana-Baptista as chief executive of the bank's operations in Spain and Portugal, replacing Abril-Martorell, who stepped down from the position in March and has continued to serve the company as a senior advisor.
Viana-Baptista will be based in the company’s Madrid office and report to Fawzi Kyriakos-Saad, CEO of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, who said in a statement that Iberia is a key European market for the Swiss bank.
Viana-Baptista joins after a career in the telecommunications and banking sectors, having previously been an executive board member at Banco Portugues de Investimento and a partner in the Iberia office of McKinsey & Co. He is currently a non-executive director of the companies Semapa and Jeronimo Martins.
In other developments, Credit Suisse recently appointed Marcel Kreis as head of its Asia-Pacific business.
