Credit Suisse's Private Bank Makes Top-Level Asia Appointment

Credit Suisse has appointed one of its senior private banking managers, Francesco de Ferrari, as its market area head for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in its private banking division. The move takes effect from 1 August.

Based in Singapore, de Ferrari will report to Marcel Kreis, head of private banking for the Asia-Pacific region at the Swiss bank. At present, de Ferrari is managing director and CEO of Credit Suisse Private Banking Italy. He joined Credit Suisse in 2002.

Before heading up private banking in Italy, de Ferrari held several roles in the private banking division including that of chief operating officer for private banking for Europe, Middle East and Africa in Zurich and country COO for Italy.

He started his professional career in 1990 and has worked in a number of blue chip companies such as Deloitte & Touche, Nestlé and McKinsey. Before joining Credit Suisse, he founded and led two different entrepreneurial ventures in the retail distribution and internet fields.

Among other recent appointments, Credit Suisse recently named Christoph Walker as managing director of its trust business in Guernsey and also appointed Jason Clark as head of advisory and sales for Russia, Eastern Europe, Greece and Central Asia.
