Credit Card Boost for Singapore's HNWs

High net worth Singaporeans may soon be enjoying higher credit card limits thanks to a proposal from regulator the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The MAS is proposing to exempt people earning more than S$120,000 a year or with personal assets of S$2 million or more from the current limit of twice the monthly salary. The proposal would apply to the top 5 per cent of income earners, according to the MAS, which also said that people within this income bracket do not require the same levels of credit protection because their percentage of defaults is so low.
