Credit Agricole, the French financial services firm, said a record level of inflows of more than €55 billion ($65.6 billion), was partly behind the 38 per cent rise in total assets under management to €563 billion in 2005. But assets under management for the bank’s private banking business rose by a less spectacular 13.2 per cent in 2005 to €79.5 billion. Credit Agricole said the rise was driven mainly by growth within its international subsidiaries. The bank said in its results statement that it had completed the merger of its private banking units in Switzerland and Luxembourg, which involved merging Credit Lyonnais businesses with Credit Agricole.
