Crédit Agricole Acquires Private Banking Brokerage, Forms New Combined Entity

Crédit Agricole Luxembourg, a subsidiary of the French financial services giant focusing on private wealth management, has acquired a majority stake in Dresdner Van Moer Courtens, a Belgian brokerage specialising in private banking. The private wealth management businesses of CAGP Belgium have been combined with the acquired firm to create Crédit Agricole Van Moer Courtens.

The new firm’s ambitions are said to be focused on developing the private wealth management activities of Crédit Agricole in Belgium.

Damien Courtens and Frank Bruynseels, former managers of DVMC who were involved in the formation of the new entity, will be responsible for developing its activities, in collaboration with Hervé Podevyn and Corine Legrand, the former managers of CAGP Belgium.
