Coutts Names Ex-Lloyds Woman As Its New Chief Financial Officer

Coutts has appointed Jennifer Mathias as its new chief financial officer, joining from UK rival Lloyds Banking Group, where she held the post of finance director in the corporate banking division.
Mathias will report to Fiona Davis, finance director for retail, wealth and Ulster within the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, and to Rory Tapner, chief executive of Coutts. She also will be a member of Coutts' executive committee.
The previous CFO, James Rawlingson, left the bank earlier this year.
At Lloyds, Mathias held a number of senior management roles. In addition to her most recent position as finance director of corporate banking, she spent three years as head of credit risk and compliance for the commercial banking division of Lloyds TSB. She started her career on the Lloyds TSB finance graduate scheme after graduating from university in 1995.
Mathias is expected to take up her new position in the first quarter of 2012.
