Compliance Corner: Mourant, CSSF, Luxembourg

The latest compliance news: regulatory developments, punishments, guidance, permissions and new product and service offerings.
The financial regulator of Luxembourg has granted a PFS licence
to Mourant, the law
firm and professional services firm, so that it can offer a wider
range of corporate and fund administration services in the
region.
Mourant has also set up MourantGS Services in order to provide
standalone services including company secretarial services,
accounting and liquidation mandates, it said in a statement
yesterday. Services include, but are not limited to,
domiciliation, corporate structuring, fund administration, fund
accounting, and tax compliance support.
The licence was granted by the Commission de Surveillance du
Secteur Financier (CSSF).
Last year, as part of its build-out of Luxembourg services,
Mourant joined forces with FideField, a governance services
business supervised by the Order of Chartered Accountants in the
European principality. Also in 2023, it teamed up with LexField,
a financial services and business law firm specialising in
advising corporations, private equity (including real estate)
houses, financial institutions, investment funds, assets managers
and sponsors, family offices and high and ultra-high net worth
individuals on various transactions.
Besides Luxembourg, Mourant advises on the laws of the British
Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey and Jersey. It has
offices in financial centres including London, Singapore and Hong
Kong.
