Compass WM fills another regional leadership slot

Alabama bank's private-client business names a new Houston-area executive. Compass Wealth Management, the trust and investment-advisory unit of Birmingham, Ala.-based Compass Bank, has promoted Jeff Manley to the role of market executive for its business in and around Houston.

As in his previous position as a Houston-based senior relationship manager for Compass WM, he reports to Rick Terry, who maintains overall responsibility for the bank's wealth-management operations in and around Houston and serves as CEO of its Houston-based RIA subsidiary Stavis Margolis Advisory Services.

Last month Compass made Douglas Bell -- formerly its Birmingham, Ala., market executive -- director of fiduciary and taxation services, and it hired Steve Sanak, previously head of lending for Birmingham-based Regions Bank's private banking group, to oversee its wealth-management operations in Alabama and Florida.

Compass Bank -- or more accurately its direct corporate parent Compass Bancshares -- is a subsidiary of Bilbao, Spain-based BBVA. -FWR
