"We are delighted to welcome Anthony Thompson back," says Summit's CEO Shirley Nelson. "His knowledge of the bank's philosophy, and most importantly, our clients, makes him a keen asset as we continue to serve small businesses in the Bay area."

The "bay" Nelson mentions is San Francisco Bay.

Before joining summit for the first time in 2001, Thompson was head of marketing and public relations for a London-based business consultancy. He has also worked for U.S. senators from Florida, Nebraska and Kansas.

In addition to its Oakland office, Summit also has a branch in each of the nearby communities of Walnut Creek, Emeryville and Hayward. -FWR
