Close Brothers Asset Management Adds Family Lawyer

The asset management arm of UK-listed Close Brothers has made the hire to strengthen links with the legal profession.
Close Brothers Asset Management has appointed family lawyer Josephine Fay to its business development team in London.
Fay previously worked at Farrer & Co on a wide range of family matters. At CBAM, she will work with legal firms and barristers, supporting the proposition for clients going through divorce.
She will report to Shirley Coe, the firm's recently appointed director of the business development team, and Penny Lovell, head of private client services.
“Divorce can throw up some incredibly complex financial issues, and wealth managers play a crucial role in helping clients to navigate through them. We have spent many years providing legal professionals with financial advice, and helping their clients plan around divorce, but are looking to build on this,” said Lovell.
In its recent results statement for 2015, Close Brothers' asset management business logged net inflows at 8 per cent of opening managed assets, although total client assets reduced to £9.1 billion ($13.1 billion).
