Clariden Leu, the Swiss private bank, has appointed five senior executives for the Southeast Asia region, four of which previously worked at Deutsche Bank's private wealth management arm.

Veny Teng joins the firm as managing director, responsible for overseeing a team of relationship managers focused on Southeast Asia. She most recently served as director at Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management and has 30 years of private banking experience. She has worked for the likes of American Express, Mees Pierson Asia and Republic National Bank of New York.

Stepping in as director and senior relationship manager is Desmond Loh, who also joins from Deutsche Bank. He brings 30 years of private wealth and equities experience working for American Express and Citibank.

Loh and Chin, who are both assuming newly-created roles, report directly to Teng.

In Asia, Clariden Leu serves high net worth clients through its Singapore office.

It is not the first time the Swiss wealth boutique has hired talent from Deutsche Bank's private banking arm. Last June the bank lured ex-Deutsche Bank PWM director Matthew Man as a director and senior investment adviser. Shirley Yap was appointed as director, head of wealth management solutions in April 2010, after holding senior positions at Deutsche Bank Hong Kong.

They were reunited with their former colleague, chief executive of Clariden Leu in Asia, Jimmy Lee. An ex-Deutsche man himself, he joined the Swiss boutique in 2009. He was previously head of private wealth management Southeast Asia / South Asia at Deutsche Bank in Singapore, where he led a team of over 150 employees.
