London-based City Financial Investment Company, has hired Anthony McDonald as a senior investment analyst to its multi asset team. This adds to a slew of hires by the firm in recent months.

The London-based independent fund manager, City Financial Investment Company, has added Anthony McDonald as a senior investment analyst to its multi asset team. 

Effective immediately, McDonald will manage multi asset funds as well as work on City Financial’s new initiative, The Adviser Centre. Launching in spring 2014, the advisor website will offer independent fund research and market and industry commentary. It will also feature fund recommendations in the form of an established fund list and a positive watch fund list. Read more about that, here.

McDonald joins from Morningstar OBSR, where he was a senior investment research analyst. He held a leadership role in the group's consulting business, working on guided fund lists, model portfolios and bespoke consultancy projects and was also involved in investment advisory activities, working on a number of fund solutions. 

He previously served in fund research roles at ABN Amro Asset Management and Forsyth Partners.

At City Financial, McDonald will again be working with former Morningstar colleagues, Peter Toogood and Gill Hutchison, who joined City Financial’s multi asset team in October 2013 as investment director and head of investment research respectively. Recently, the firm has made several hires, gradually expanding its London-based team over the past few months.
