Citigroup Private Bank plans to open an office in Kuwait and to further expand in the region, according to a local press interview with Mark Morgan, managing director of Citigroup Global Wealth Management business in Asia Pacific and Middle East. Mr Morgan said Citigroup Private Bank plans to open in Kuwait as soon as a licence is granted by the local regulator. The bank currently has offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain. Citigroup Private Bank has upped its activities in the Middle East considerably over the past 18 months and has increased its number of bankers in the region six-fold, Mr Morgan said.
