Citibank China Opens Full-Service Branch, Citigold In Shanghai

Citibank China continues its expansion drive with the launch of a sub-branch at the Jing'an District in Shanghai, offering services for clients including the country's accelerating population of mass affluent individuals.

The new office is the bank's 40th consumer outlet and is designed as a smart banking hub, which utilises technology to boost the convenience element of clients' banking experience.

The Jing'an branch includes Citi Explore, which features hand-held devices as tools, Citi Connect, which aims for an enhanced online experience, and Citi Assist, which refers to interactive video conferencing services. The branch is also equipped with wireless soft phones and an internet kiosk.

Like other Citibank outlets in the country, the new branch offers both Citibank and Citigold services, the company said in a statement. Citibank works with clients who have a minimum balance of RMB80,000 (around $12,500), while Citigold caters to customers with at least RMB500,000. Having Citigold on board means the branch shall have dedicated relationship managers on site, as well as proprietary tools such as Citigold Financial Needs Analysis.
