Citibank has appointed Christine Lam as deputy country business manager based in Hong Kong with immediate effect.

Lam was previously the head of operations and technology of the American bank in Hong Kong and has assumed various key positions at the firm, including as chief operating officer for Asia-Pacific corporate banking and commercial banking, chief of staff to the regional chief executive of the corporate and investment bank and head of global transaction services in Hong Kong. 

In her new role, Christine Lam will oversee the overall operation and development of the retail banking business in Hong Kong, covering the expansion and operation of the entire branch network, the development of investment offerings and the management of general banking, Citigold and Citigold Private Client. 

She is believed to be replacing Simon Chow, who was appointed as the country business manager for the Citibank China operations in June.
