Citi Private Bank Makes UHNW Hires In San Francisco and Vancouver

Citi Private Bank’s expansion continued apace yesterday, with the bank announcing two new hires in San Francisco and Vancouver.

Steven Gold and Edward Southerland joined Citi as managing director and ultra high net worth private banker, in San Francisco and Vancouver respectively.

Gold will report to Tracey Warson, west coast regional executive for the bank and Southerland will report to Kush Malhotra, head of the Citi Private Bank offices in Vancouver and Seattle.

Gold comes to Citi from Harris myCFO Investment Advisory Services where he was a director and led a team responsible for delivering the firm's investment advisory services to clients in the western United States.  Prior to joining Harris myCFO in 2005, Gold spent several years with Morgan Stanley in San Francisco.

Southerland will join Citi at the end of the month from Royal Bank of Canada, where he was senior client advisor with RBC Wealth Management in Vancouver.  Prior to joining RBC, Southerland practiced law in the international wealth planning Group of Borden Ladner Gervais where he specialized in the provision of cross-border and estate planning solutions for high net worth individuals and families.
