Citi Opens New Smart Branch in Wuxi

US bank Citi today opened its third branch in China this year, based in the Eastern city of Wuxi, servicing institutional and wealth management customers.

The Wuxi branch, Citi’s thirteenth in China, will employ 16 corporate bankers and 34 retail banking professionals. It is located at 218, Zhongshan Road, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province.

The branch offers Renminbi and foreign currency products and services to Chinese residents and foreign nationals, said the firm in a statement. The new outlet offers both Citibanking (corporate) and Citigold (mass affluent banking) services.

Citibank was the first financial institution to introduce the smart banking concept in China, and we are excited to be bringing smart banking to the residents of Wuxi with the best available banking and wealth management services,” said Simon Chow, country business manager, Citibank China.

Key features of the smart banking outlet include 'Citi Connect', which enables customers to browse the web and get access to Citibank China’s next-generation online banking services, which include enhanced online security features, convenient online payments and transfers, allowing customers to access their Citibank accounts in multiple countries, and a comprehensive set of alerts / SMS-based banking services.
