Citi Names Family Office Chief For North America

Citi Private Bank has signed on Stephen Campbell to head its Family Office Group for North America.
Campbell was most recently chief investment officer for Zefram, the personal investment company of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
In the new post Campbell, who is based in Seattle, reports to Peter Charrington, Citi Private Bank's chief executive for North America, and Catherine Weir, head of the Global Family Office group.
Citi launched the Global Family Office group last year. Weir was promoted from her previous post as chief executive of the Europe, Middle East and Africa region of the private bank to run it.
Campbell’s hire is the latest move to build out the group. Last month James Holder was appointed to head the EMEA region.
At Zefram Campbell managed a portfolio of equity, fixed income and alternative investments, leading both direct investments and third party manager selection. He was also managing director of Bezos' venture fund.
Prior to joining Zefram in 2005, Campbell was chief executive of two financial software companies, Devonshire Technology, which he sold to Fidelity Investments in 1998, and Capital Stream which was acquired by HCL Technologies.
"Stephen's diverse business background and years of experience as a highly successful investor, entrepreneur and executive positions him well to drive this important initiative for us," Charrington said.
