Citi Launches 'Futuristic' Branch In Hong Kong, Focuses On The Wealthy

Citibank has made a foray into the future with the opening of a new smart banking office in Mong Kok, Hong Kong, with its primary focus being on wealthy clients.

The new smart banking centre features four floors of technologically-updated banking facilities, with 59-foot LED displays on the facade and seven 52-inch touchscreen informational displays on the inside walls. In addition, the branch boasts of 10 work benches that display stock quotes or for clients to use with online banking, as well as 16 46-inch screens for displaying news and financial information. The entire office will also have free Wi-Fi connectivity and videoconferencing facilities for clients to discuss with Citi professionals in other locations.

Mong Kok is perhaps one of the busiest commercial districts in the world, hence the new branch's location, the bank said in release. The new centre, Citi's largest smart banking facility in Asia, will cater primarily to high-end, luxury clients.

Other similar branches in the region are located in China, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
