Citi India Unveils Revamped Advisory Board

Citigroup has made changes to its India advisory board as the company moves its brand building strategy forward, the bank said in a statement.

The board is now headed by Victor Menezes, previously the senior vice chairman of Citigroup. The rest of the panel is made up of Nanoo Pamnani, ex-chief executive of Citibank India, Pradeep Bhide, ex-revenue secretary, Harish Manwani, presdient for Asia, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe for Unilever, and Anil Menon, president of Cisco Systems. Also part of the board are Shirish Apte, CEO of Citibank Asia Pacific, and Pramit Jhaveri, CEO of Citibank India.

The new group takes over from outgoing board members Gurusharan Das, Suhel Seth, J J Irani and G N Bajpai.

The reorganisation of the advisory council comes at a time Citi is at the centre of Indian news after one of its wealth managers, Shivraj Puri, was accused of defrauding some 40 high net worth clients and corporate entities. The board will serve as an independent counsel to the bank's management team in the country, providing insights on developing corporate and consumer franchise, brand building and positioning, distribution, and talent development.
